PARENTS STRESS

" If you raise your children to feel that they can accomplish any goal or task they decide upon, you will have succeeded as a parent and you will have given your children the greatest of all blessings."
 Brian Tracy ~

Human mind is the richest resource, which has no frontiers. Education broadly intends to prepare the child for life which is the most valuable thing. Everything has its own functional value. But everywhere the thinking man is weaving superficial values crossing the real values. In the global values, culture shocks and flood of information, the quality of life is on the decline. Quality life does not mean having rich material possessions but leading a healthy and happy life. Each family these days has fewer children than before. All of us, parents and teachers, want our children to be better off than us.

Academic studies have become the focus of life for a child .Parents feel that their child should perform well; get good grades to ensure a brilliant future. All other matters are of secondary importance. Parents and teachers put pressure on the child when the child fails to perform well. Parents blame the teachers for the poor grades of their wards. The child is at the receiving end from both sides, and starts showing behavioral problems. Matters seem to go downhill on all fronts. Research has revealed that children of different groups though same at their age do not learn at the same place or by the same method. Some are quick on the uptake but bad at reproducing on paper. Some seem to learn fast, and forget equally quickly .Others seem to have a mental block that prevents them from learning. Unfortunately our education system tries to equalize all of them. This results in some children getting behind, much to the anguish of parents and the irritation of teachers. This is where the stress begins.......

" If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the mystery of the world we live in."Rachel Carson ~
